38 Weeks

I know I "technically" have two weeks of pregnancy left, but it wouldn't hurt my feelings if this little man comes early! No matter what Brooke says I don't think anyone wants me at the county fair pregnant. LOL
There was one baby born in our family this week.

I present to you Bennett our newest nephew! We went and visited him in the hospital hoping it would coax his cousin out, but no such luck! Bennett is a really cutie and slept the whole time I was visiting him. I do think Uncle Kelly made him cry!
The only up side to staying pregnant is we do have new carpet coming on Monday and a new baby would put a little hitch in that. So we will try to stay positive about actually making it to my due date, I just hope baby is not getting any ideas about getting too big!

Speaking of too big, last Saturday Daryl had his last tumbling class. He is getting to be such a big boy! We will have to sign him up for another class soon, he had a lot of fun.

Just too tired to blog!

I've had some nervous energy to work with this month. I've channeled it into spinning and am LOVING this green Hello Yarn fiber. I have grand plans for a sweater vest using this yarn. We shall see! Hoping that after this week everything calms down and Kelly and I can do the finishing touches of the baby stuff. We don't have much left besides put in the car seats, pack a bag and buy some diapers. Time is getting close folks!!

Speaking of time is getting close this weekend sister-in-law and I took our first belly bump pictures together. We are due on the same day! It will be fun to have cousins this close in age and I'm just hoping we don't wear out grandma Meerpohl. ;-)

This weekend I finished the baby socks and started a cowl using my handspun. I like saying the word cowl around Kelly because he just shakes his head and says, "I have no idea what that is...it looks like a scarf..."
It's fun to keep him guessing sometimes!
Other than Kelly breaking his glasses and being blind for the whole day we had a great father's day! Daryl got to give dad his golf gift card and tell daddy about how we got to ride a golf cart when we went to buy it. Daryl has been trying to tell Kelly about this for weeks but I would just shrug my shoulders and say I had no idea what he was talking about. Daryl was happy people finally started believing him and his golf cart story! We had breakfast out and then went to the pool. I'm sure Kelly could feel the love Daryl and I were sending him because LORD knows he couldn't see us!! LOL
P.S. for those of you concerned about poor Kelly he got new frames yesterday and can see again!

31 Weeks!!

I'm trying not to panic but in TWO months we should have a baby. I do hope that he decides to stay in that entire time, but he sure has been acting like he has a busting out plan lately!! I don't remember Daryl being this active and Daryl is our energetic child. This could get interesting...
Some things that I left behind in the 30th week of pregnancy: 1.) My wedding ring 2.) My Jeans 3.)Crawling around on the floor and 4.) a full nights sleep!
Actually I haven't been sleeping thru the night for quite some time now but I guess that is just preparing me for the months ahead. I was making great progress on the sweater for Daryl when I got the rest of my blanket blocks in the mail from Oklahoma. YIPEE!! So last night I decided to block the blocks! LOL
This picture isn't all of them, but all I could stand to work on at one time. See above about not being able to crawl around on the floor anymore! I would list all the knitters that donated blocks but I would probably leave someone out so needless to say they are plenty!
Feel free to leave a comment if you want to claim your block!!
Remember this is only two thirds of them!

Knitting and Growing

I've decided that with a baby coming in July the time to do Daryl's birthday sweater is now. So I have picked a pattern and dug some yarn out of the stash and cast on. It's going to be a pullover with a honeycomb front. I will post pictures when there is something more to show. Right now it is just about two inches of sweater and not impressive...yet!

I did finish my orange block for the baby blanket and have started a blue one. I need 36 blocks and so far I have eight. I need to stay on top of this block issue!

It was time to take the six months pregnant picture. I can't believe that the time has gone this fast. While documenting how big I can get Daryl decided to get in on the action and give the baby a hug! Awww, let's hope he is this sweet when there is an actual newborn around!!

Finally Finished!

Last night I finally finished my sweater! This is the one that I said if this new pattern doesn't work out I quit on the yarn. I'm so glad that I didn't quit because this sweater is as soft as kitten fur!
I Imagine the fit will be better after July, I plan to not be so round about then! ;-)
Notice all the boxes behind me?! We are officially packed up and ready to move into our new home. Fingers crossed everything happens that is supposed to and we close on Friday with no drama! Yay!!

Quick Daryl story because I know half of my readers are here for the knitting/spinning and the other half for Daryl stories. I was making a deposit at our bank the other day in the drive thru and Daryl was in the back seat. The teller finished my transaction and said "Thank you Kelly is there anything else I can do for you?"
Daryl yelled from the back seat, "Did he just call you Kelly? That is my dad's name...your name is Candis!" "We are going to have to tell Dad that man called you Kelly!"
The teller was laughing and I was just pulling away as fast as I could. Awwww the innocence of children!
