Long Time no Blog!

The Meerpohls have been super busy lately. For a short time we had something going on almost every night! But here are some updates and important events.

With the Easter season upon us Sugar had his first Peep! As you can tell it went over very well. He was blue from head to toe but not at all sad :-)

He has also been rocking back and forth on his knees but not really crawling. He is still pretty good at rolling where ever he would like to go!

As of a couple of weeks ago I have taken up Rugby again. So far so good. I have a big tournament in St. Louis this weekend so I'm looking forward to that! It's been fun getting back on the pitch.

Kelly and I joined the local Methodist church this last Sunday. Just in time for Easter we have a new church family. Everyone was so inviting and they all adore our little sugarbear! He was quite the ham when we were in front of the congregation!

Not all smiles and giggles we are trying to get our little Meerpohl to sleep thru the night. This has taken a lot of tough love and some earplugs would probably also help. The first night we were not picking him up he cried for three hours! Just when we thought we couldn't take it anymore he fell back asleep. Last night he only cried for a little over an hour so we are crossing our fingers that the worst is over!

This wasn't taken in the middle of the night but you get the picture...

It's Done

On Friday the kitchen was finally all put back together. I think it came out very good! Some day we will fix the cabinets and counter top but this is great for now!

My mom and brother's soon to be mother in law came to stay this weekend. I had fun showing them around town. We love having company. After all why work so hard on the manor if we can't show it off!

Today was so beautiful that we had to go outside. We took Sugar Bear to the park and he got to swing for the very first time. He Loved It! I think he was scaring some of the other children with his screams of delight. They were very loud screams. I look forward to going to the park all summer. It is the same park Kelly and I got married in and it is very special to us. We love sharing it with our son!

The Paneling Must Die

I really didn't have any "projects" for this past weekend. I needed to do laundry, go grocery shopping, and clean the front and dinning room. By early afternoon on Sunday all of those things had been done.

Well you know what they say about idle minds....

So Sugar Bear and I are playing in the back room and the picture above is what I am staring at. That's when it hits me. There is only one wall of paneling left in this house so what are we waiting for!

Kelly comes in from the yard and I tell him my master plan. We need to mud and paint the paneling ASAP!! So right then and there we start!

While Kelly is painting the wall with primer I am at the computer picking out the new color of the wall. I'm finding it hard to imagine that one wall with color while the rest of the kitchen is off white.

That's when the small project gets a little bigger... See you can't just paint one wall in a kitchen. You have to paint them all! Then you have to redo the ceiling paint (trust me it was bad). And since you are redoing the ceiling paint you might as well get some new light fixtures. So the small paint one wall is in its second day of mini remodel.
I hate it when projects do that :-) Kelly hates it more!

I CAN ORGANIZE

For everyone who is not certain that the craft room has a floor you probably remember a room that looked like this...

After a lot of sorting, purging, and putting away I think there is hope for the craft room. TADA!!!

The love seat is a pull out bed so it can be a guest room in a pinch! I hope to get it looking even better as I work on knitting some of my yarn stash. I also need to finish four or five things I have started sewing. I have a really bad habit of starting projects and then they get abandoned. I think this is rebellion from all the deadlines I had in school!

OK I will end with pictures for all of the Grandmas!! Another little before and after. :-)

March, I'm Ready for the Lamb Part!!

The trip west was a lot of fun! We got to hang out with family and just chill out for the whole weekend. While we were there we had D's six months pictures done. He smiled really good for his pictures but not so much in the one with his cousins. I think those three still make him nervous!!
The first picture is D all dressed and ready to go and Dad not wanting to get out of bed! Dad missed a hot breakfast and had to settle for doughnuts!!

The ride home was a little bit of an adventure with D deciding he didn't want to be in the car anymore 2 hours in. Too bad we had 2 and half left to go!! We finally gave in and got him some cookies and juice in Abilene. Mommy and Daddy just couldn't take it anymore!!
