Meerpohls See Mountains!

Our summer vacay is in the books! This last week we adventured to Yellowstone national park and Grand Tetons National Park. Alex also marked his first flights that he can remember! We stayed in some cool Air bnbs, and enjoyed cool mountain air. It will be hard to adjust to Kansas weather.

Most memorable moments were almost hitting a moose with the rental car  and actually hitting Daryl with a golf cart! oops!

Mom got state #48 and #49 on this trip!

Pass me my Toolbelt!

So, this weekend I did a thing. I'm pretty proud of myself because I didn't pay to have it done, and it was easier than I thought it would be. I brought my front door back to life. My front door is awesome. It is round on top, has awesome windows and is almost 100 years old.

When I bought my house my door was showing her age. She was very sun damaged, and where the damage is the worst I was nervous to sand it. The door is a bit thinner there. So this weekend Mom and I went to Menards with pictures, and got some supplies.

The windows still need to be cleaned of stain, but I think she looks great! Poor old girl!

After first coat

Final product! Just need to clean the glass!

Daryl and Alex came home on Sunday.
Daryl got to pick the first harvest from his garden.
Yup, that's it so far!

Meerpohls go to Camp!

This week the family was relocated to Rock Springs 4-H Camp! We are actually still here, I'm borrowing a computer from the nurse station. LOL

This is Daryl's fourth year at camp and he loves it. He was talking about it for two weeks before he left to anyone that would listen. He is having a great time bopping around, giving me little waves when our paths cross.

This is Alex's FIRST year at camp. He came to rookie camp this morning and will only stay one night. My first year to Rock Springs 4-H camp Alex was 10 months old, he has been waiting patiently for his turn to go. He was ready to pack three days before I even left with counselors. He has been planning for everything that Daryl has ever talked about. He even knew he could wear his swim trunks in the shower if he wanted. 😂

They are out there rocking and rolling and I am having a blast being a small part of their camp experience.

Look everyone, he CAN set a table!

Alex has arrived!

First lunch is chicken strips, not a bad way to start camp!

Had to grab one family picture.
Aunt Sofia came to be our nurse!!!

Summer Time = Baseball Time

The boys have both started playing baseball games. I have not seen Daryl play yet, but I should get to finally catch one of his games on Saturday. I got to see Alex play last weekend and he is picking up right where he left off last summer. He got a hit every time he went to the plate! We are still working on fielding, and by "we" I mean him, his coaches and grandma! I'm just in it for the sunflower seeds and sun!

Daryl played catcher his first game and I heard good reports. He also got two hits, he plays kid pitch, so that is an accomplishment! He gives me a lot of grace when I miss games, I get a full report when we are together. :-)

I'm doing some training out of town this week, but thanks to facetime I've gotten some reports from how summer day camp is going! So far counselors are good, and Daryl has gone off all of the diving boards at the Gage Park pool. That is crazy fantastic, he was so scared of them last year. That guy is growing up before my very eyes!!

Alex up to bat! He is playing with the Dirt Devils again this year.

This was from our annual last day of school lunch.
Daryl picked Red Lobster this year.
The boys could not give me one good picture........
