Love and Serve

As we parked the truck in the drive not long ago I took a minute to think about how great today was. I had such a full day and it was so great.

I helped at the church this morning with an Easter egg hunt. And there is nothing better than starting your day with some volunteer work. It sets the tone for the rest of the day to remember to serve others. The kids had a great time and the staff at Countryside always puts on the best events!

Then I came home and cooked and baked. I made my deviled eggs and ham for tomorrow. Also baked brownies for dinner with friends this evening. Everything turned out great! I even made the brownies from scratch and I usually buy box brownies. They were better!!

Went over to Ben and Jaime's for some delicious mustard marinated pheasant and it was AWESOME. Kelly and I will definitely be buying some of that mustard at Saturday's farmers market next week. We are already drooling about what all we can do with it. YES!!!

Daryl was also being such a good boy today. He helped Kelly take two loads to the dump. The yard looks great, the house looks great, I'm kicking my head cold! Life is Good! Happy Easter tomorrow everyone, remember we are here to serve and love!! That is All!!

So I am going to go see one of my best friends today and her new baby in Oregon. That is all if the major storm coming thru the state today doesn't ground my plane! So for the sake of my trip and seeing Ms. Becca for the first time in over a year I plea with the powers from above to form a bubble around MCI, Denver Airport and PDX and GET ME TO OREGON!!! please and thank you :)

Go Outside, Have Fun, Repeat!

This weekend we had amazing weather! So what better thing to do than spend all weekend outdoors!! Other than changing the loads of laundry we played all weekend.
Daryl went to the zoo with his girl friend, (notice the space :-), Addison. He then got to watch a Topeka Men's rugby game with our friend Jaime. The men ruled BTW!
He was a good helper and after the game collected all the flags from the field, with minimal help!
He went to a couple of parks on Saturday and a couple more on Sunday!
If only this weekend had a birthday party it would have been perfect. WAIT A MINUTE!! We had a birthday party for cousin Carson on Friday!! So looks like we had the perfect weekend.
Top it off with a cookie decorating class and I'm not sure you can top it!

San Frantastic!

Kel and I got home from a vacation to San Fransisco yesterday! We had a lot of fun, ate a lot of good food, and SLEPT IN!!!
Daryl stayed in Kansas with Aunt Barb and Grandma Meerpohl. He went the longest he has ever gone without us and I'm proud of my big boy! He talked to us on the phone a little and all the reports we received in CA was that he was being a good boy. We are so thankful to our family for making a few days away from Daryl possible!!
There are so many good stories that they will probably be a whole week worth of blogs, but first I thought I would show you why we didn't take Daryl.
Yup, you guessed it. They had Coyote Warnings in San Fran. So what responsible parents would take their child across the country to get eaten by a coyote? It wasn't like we wanted to leave him, it was a matter of his safety!!
The second phenomena that Kelly and I couldn't understand was how everyone in the city is so thin? We will be pondering that for awhile because we had some of the BEST food we have ever tasted while staying in the city. Including but not limited to the best crab I've ever had, the best breakfast eggs, the best burrito, the best fried rice and the best chocolate chip coconut muffins!! So seriously you would have to roll us out of the state if we stayed there very long!!

Many more Frantastic stories to come but to end this blog I have to post the best picture of cousins that I have ever taken. And yes mom a copy for you and Grandma Linda will be in the mail!! Aren't they cute!!!!!
