Where is Daryl?

On Monday Daryl got to leave for his 4-H Exchange trip to Texas. He has been anxiously awaiting this trip since we hosted Texas 4-H'er Lathan last summer. I will do another post when he gets back next week, because at this time I'm just getting pictures and one word answers! So I know he is having fun!

While Daryl is gone we are having a Triple "A" week at home. All About Alex. :-) Alex has been getting to pick what we eat, what game we play at night and what we watch. I asked him today if he misses Daryl, and he said "eh, a little." Looks like Triple "A" week is a success!

A Kansas kid surfing? Unbelievable!

Crab!

Told Alex Daryl got put in Jail in Texas, he believed me for a minute!

Reunited with his Exchange partner!

We did a new thing!

Last weekend The Manor packed up and tried camping at Lake Melvern. We learned a lot of things, but it was really fun. We stayed in tents and enjoyed the outlet part of the lake and the swim beach. There was a chance for rain the entire weekend but we only got one storm on Saturday night. The worst part was the wind. Both boys got a bit of a sunburn, looks like I need to get in full summer mode with the sunscreen.

Camping is the best for a long weekend. We got to have two days of fun and I still got to do all my house chores on Monday. I hope everyone had a nice long weekend too!

The only thing Alex didn't like was spiders in the bathroom.
LOL We aren't really "outdoorsy"!

The hammock was a hit!

We played lots of Garbage and Uno!

Putting up a tent is hard!

San Antonio part 2

On the last half of our vacation we explored The Alamo, Riverwalk and had a Crab dinner! We needed the whole day to stretch our legs. On Friday we did the entire 11 hour drive home.

We stopped for lunch at Braums and got out of the car a few other times. Considering how long the trip was, the boys were champs! They really only fought the last hour, not too bad.

The one thing I can't stress enough is San Antonio traffic and highways are no joke. I didn't need a roller coaster, just getting around the city gave me adrenaline!

Vacation 2023 is in the books, now we are switching focus to the summer reading challenge and 4-H fair projects!

San Antonio part 1!

The boys, mom and I have been busy relaxing! We got away to San Antonio and this is my first time visiting. The first three days we have been to Bucees, Natural Bridge Caverns, Japanese Tea garden, shopping and SeaWorld.

I think Alex's favorite thing so far has been a ride in a Tesla that was one of our Lyfts. The driver showed off sport mode for us! Daryl's favorite has probably been the hot tub at our Airbnb.

In my next post I'll put the adults favorites and I'll see if the boys change their minds! Lol
